LSU vs. Texas Tech

After a sort of disappointing LSU football season and a crazy season ending where we thought LSU would get rid of Coach Miles for sure...we rolled into the bowl game season and landed a game right here in Houston!

Kev got us all tickets to the game including Aunt Linda, Uncle Tim, Maugie and Papa and the four of us. Miss Cathy kept Wesley for us and Trey was still in Louisiana after Christmas.

We had a blast tailgating before the game but it was COLD!

We gathered with tons of other LSU peeps to watch the band come down the hill errr....sidewalk...

I wish I had a photo of this but Les and I were on a mission to find Fournette and when we found him we hollered "LEONARDDDDDD!" like it was our job. He saw us and gave us a smile and we squealed like school girls, it was priceless!

I love my hubby in a beanie. I think he's so cute when he wears one! :)

There was live music outside of the stadium before the game. We hung out there for a while but it got cold really fast.

Julie, Andrew, Sara and Troy met up with us for a drink before we went in the stadium also.

We had great seats!!

So Texas Tech's "thing" is tortillas. They throw them when they do anything good during the game. I googled exactly how it originated but obviously it didn't impress me enough for me to remember the reason as I have already forgotten it, lol! So, Kev and I caught them all when they threw them and saved them under our seats. After the game when we won, we threw them around in the air. We thought we were just so funny.

We watched the trophy presentation and heard the players speak. The crowd went crazy when Fournette said "see y'all next year!". Everyone cheered and chanted for Les as well as we realized we had dodged a bullet by LSU keeping him on staff but no one knew what the next season would hold.

We had a great time even though the game was on a Tuesday and I had to work the next day. We didn't get home until after 1am so it made for a very very long day the following day.

Also, I don't know if it's just me, but when I have a bad experience with one fan I tend to think all of the fans from a certain school are that way. This was the case with Texas Tech. We had a girl in front of us hollering at us and trying to fight the entire game. She was pretty awful. She did not like the fact that we have certain songs that are played throughout the game...and in her defense they did play our songs an awful lot...

Even in my most feisty LSU  game cheering days I never acted like this. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt so someone please tell me they're not all like that..until then I will laugh at their boot stompin', tortilla throwing fans while singing Baton Rouge and I'm From Louisiana. GEAUX TIGERS!!!
