Trey's Baptism

Trey was baptized on April 6th 2013 at 10 am at St. George Catholic Church in Baton Rouge.

It was a private ceremony and was just perfect!

Fr. Mike (who married us almost 3 years ago) baptized Trey in a very special ceremony... and unlike our wedding, we had both lights and air conditioning on Saturday! :)

We had so many family and friends who came out to see Trey be dedicated to God and it really made us realized how blessed we truly are.

Trey wore the O'Meara family christening gown that my dad and all his siblings, all the grandchildren and most of the great-grandchildren have worn.

It was made by a family friend, Mrs. Deirichs. My great-grandma (Grandma Garvin) bought the material for it.

It is so special to think my dad once wore the same gown we baptized our son in. Over 20 family members spanning 3 generations have worn the gown so far and that is just so cool to me!

My mom's cousin, Lisa, made Trey the bonnet he wore. She made it to match the gown and it couldn't have been any more perfect!

Along with the gown and bonnet, Trey wore a bib from Nanny and Parrain with his initials on it and a pin engraved with his name from Grammy.

Trey's Godparents are Kevin and Leslie Toler and he calls (or will eventually call) them Parrain and Nanny.

After the baptism, we had a little reception back at Mama's house.

It was a gorgeous day and I think everyone had a good time.

We had delicious food and wonderful company.

We even re-created a picture of my mom, me and my Godparents that was taken on the day I was baptized  (circa 1985) :)

Trey got some amazingly sweet and special gifts including a prayer bear, prayer plaques, rosaries and crosses...again, we are just SO blessed!!

After we ate, Trey's Nanny cut the cake and we all visited until all the kiddos were worn out.

It was a perfect end to a perfect day.

Trey ended up falling asleep during the party, but as Keith said "it's his party and he can sleep if he wants to!"

Much thanks to everyone who came. We love y'all so much and really appreciate you being a part of Trey's big day!

(Thank you to Aunt Shea and Katherine for the wonderful pictures!!!)

So sorry we missed it! Don't you just love family traditions...Jolie's gown was over 100 years old! We are so blessed to have such wonderful and beautiful children who are now members of the church! I can't wait to teach Jolie the ways of Christ and to pray and live a faith-filled life!
