15 months

15 month well-child visit: Trey had a good checkup on March 3rd. He got two shots and there were definitely a few tears, but he was a good boy and even gave Dr. Pocsik a hug before we left.
Stats: 25 lbs 11 oz and 32 inches long (90% for both weight and length)

Hair/Eyes:
His hair is still growing from back to front again and getting thicker. His eyes are still hazel/green.

Nicknames:
Bubba, Bud, Baby Trey

What He's Wearing:
Still 18 or 18-24 month clothes, size 6 shoes and size 5 diapers. Thinking we are going to have to move up a size in diapers soon.

He is wearing his new cowboy boots most days as he is completely obsessed with them. See below for verification of that statement...

Sleep Habits:

Trey has still been sleeping really well. He has moved his bedtime up a bit to between 7:30 and 8 pm and usually sleeps 10-11 hours every night.

We have continued to lay him down awake for naps and for nighttime and he puts himself to sleep (as long as he has his pillow!)

He has continued with one long morning (2+ hours!) and sometimes one short afternoon (30-45 minutes) nap each day. Most days he only naps once.

What He Eats:

After I tried to wean him off the bottle with some luck but not much, I gave up and figured he would give up the bottles when he was ready. One week, all of a sudden, he decided that he was over the bottle and weaned himself (except for the night bottle). Once in a while he will still want a bottle in the morning, but for the most part he only gets one at night time.

Since he is drinking less milk, he is eating more. He pretty much snacks all day on fruit, yogurt and other random snacks and he still eats three meals a day.

He continues to drink milk, water or juice out of his sippy during the day but he is hit or miss with drinking milk from his sippy.

Waiting at Miss Sara's house one morning.

He now eats off a bowl or plate without throwing it on the ground (usually) and is getting a lot better with spoons and forks.

Favorite foods still include mandarin oranges, pancakes, blueberries, blackberries, yogurt, cheerios, mixed vegetables, grapes, any kind of soup, chicken nuggets and ritz crackers.

Although we usually try to offer him mostly healthy foods, moon pies were a huge hit at Mardi Gras!
He is sadly beginning to get more picky about what he will and will not eat. We try to offer him a variety but sometimes he will only eat nuggets, yogurt, fruit and vegetables. He now refuses to eat sandwiches of any type, peanut butter and cheese- how weird.

He LOVES breakfast foods especially pancakes and waffles. They are a staple in his diet!

He also loves to mooch off our plates. He likes to share cereal with his Daddy.

Daily Routine:

Nothing has really changed here. Our little schedule has been pretty consistent and has worked out well for us.
Our evening routine still consists of a bath, teeth brushing, pj's and then he has one last bottle before bed.

Personality:

Trey is becoming more and more strong willed. He shows that "Major temper" pretty often! He most definitely has an opinion about everything. He is very vocal about letting us know what he does and does not want!

He is still a silly little guy and more often than not he is happy, smiling and laughing.

Milestones:

Trey only has one speed- fast. He runs everywhere he goes.

He is still working on learning to use a spoon and fork.

He now has 12 teeth (he cut all four of his first set of molars within one week, poor buddy!) He was in so much pain he was teething on anything and everything in site...including his crib.

He now helps us to clean up or put things up. He LOVES putting things away into boxes or containers.

He is still doing well with independent play time. Favorite toys include: his play kitchen, blocks, anything he can load and unload, anything Mickey Mouse and choo-choo trains.

What Trey says:

He is still repeating much of what he hears.

He knows that "two" comes after "one" and likes to help us count.

New words this month include: chicka, hot, "bitsch" (boots, but strangly sounds like another word...), open, open it, down, and toodles (for "oh toodles" on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse). He will also sometimes use GG (Grammy) and Puh (Pee), and he still uses his old words: Mama, Dada, Baba, Uhcky, Ah bowl (apple), Hi, Bye, Yeah, Dog and Dat (cat), Papa, ugh oh, tree, light, huh?, choo choo, go, whoa, no, done, wow, uh huh.

Even though he can say quite a few words now, he can absolutely understand everything we say.

He is starting to associate things with the sounds they make. He knows the sound for boat, train and dog.

Anything New:

He is tall enough now to not only reach the door knobs but he can almost get on our couch without assistance.

He has started to climb on anything he can which lately has included ice chests and laundry baskets.

He has also put his foot up on the railing of his crib on occasion. I am NOT excited about the possibility of him being able to crawl out of his crib but thankfully I think we still have a while to go before that happens.

He has been practicing sitting at his big boy table for meals! I still haven't figured out what I want to do with his table and chair set so for now it is just hanging out in the living room being mis-matched. Any suggestions are totally welcome!!! (I DO NOT feel like sanding and painting though so pretty much my only option is really not an option at all...)

Trey is OBSESSED with stairs. Sara blocks them off daily at her house so he cannot go near them, but anytime he sees any stairs he wants to go up and down them, over and over and over and OVER again.

He now loves sliding at the park. He used to be afraid, but now that is ALL he wants to do!

A couple of times he has woken up either in the morning or after a nap screaming bloody murder. When we go to get him out of his crib, he is not fully awake and fights us. It sometimes takes a while for him to snap out of it. We have talked to a few people and it sounds as if he may be having night terrors- poor buddy! :( Hope this doesn't last too long!

What we did this month:

We made Valentines for our loved ones and let Trey have full artistic control of the projects :)

We celebrated Valentine's Day with tons of love sent via mail to Trey (THANK YOU Grammy, Peetie, The Hoffmans, The Tiptons, Tolers, Angel, Mary and Sara!)

We spent a fun afternoon at Froberg Farms

We FINALLY got to see some sunshine after all the rain and cold.

Trey spent lots of time with his cousins!

We went to NOLA for the first weekend of Mardi Gras (more photos to come!) This was Trey's second trip to Mardi Gras in NOLA :)
