Stay-cation 2013

With three babies under 4, we decided traveling to Destin this year for vacation was probably not the best idea.

Instead, we opted to stay close to home and rent a little beach house in Galveston.

The house was located on Pirate's Beach. It was just perfect.

We arrived on Thursday and went out to enjoy a little beach time and a beautiful sunset too!

My little beach baby seemed right at home with his pelican t-shirt :)

The little mister was sleepy tired and almost fell asleep on his daddy's shoulder, listening to the waves.

It was SUPER windy, but felt so good outside with pretty low humidity.

We went out at the perfect time for some good shadow pictures!

Trey loved sitting on the blanket sharing snacks with his daddy...

...and Mama too!

It felt so wonderful out on the beach, we stayed to watch the sunset.

Friday, we went to the Rainforest Pyramid at Moody Gardens and had a great time and a delicious lunch.

Here are some beautiful butterflies in the butterfly exhibit.

One of the first animals we saw when we entered the rain forest. I love these two pictures of Jim and Peet.

Grammy was not too sure about the fact that the monkeys were loose in the pyramid. She quickly got over her fear though :)

The monkeys were indeed loose and would climb right up to where the people were. They were very interested in baby strollers although they didn't get too close, thankfully!

Once we were inside, the monkeys kept jumping up on the door- it sort of creeped me out!

Trey was really good and enjoyed looking at all the animals and plants.

The fish were definitely his favorite though!

He kept banging on the glass and saying "ahhhhhh" at the fish.

After a fun morning at Moody Gardens, we headed back to the house and waited for the Tolers to arrive!

The house was about 4 houses from the beach and had beautiful views from the deck. It was the perfect amount of space for all of us to be comfortable.

We had coffee in the mornings and snacks in the evenings out on the big wooden deck.

The deck was also the perfect place to put the kiddie-pool!

AND Lucky's favorite hang-out spot!

The kiddos LOVED the beach.

Adelle was fearless and loved going way far out into the gulf.

Quinn loved the waves, and would crack up laughing each time they came rolling in.

Trey loved it all but especially loved eating the sand!

It was the perfect little "stay-cation" for us. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer :(

The kids loved playing together and were really, really good.

Trey really enjoyed spending some time with his Grammy...

and his Peetie!

Saturday, we watched the LSU game and Jim and Kev grilled.

My Uncle Gregg came from Conroe and met Trey for the first time!

We spent pretty much all day out on the beach.

It was a hot day but beautiful!

We soaked up plenty of vitamin D and used lots of sunscreen :)

Trey liked using Grammy's weeding bucket as a tub!

Thankfully, we had the tent so the babes could get a little shade.

Of course we took obligatory family beach pictures before we headed home on Sunday.

This picture really sums up their relationship. Look at that little cheeky smile!!

Love my sweet family!

The kiddos were not completely thrilled to take pics, but we worked it out :)

I LOVED getting to spend some sweet sweet quality time with my god-babies!!

And with my Mama and God-Mama!!

It was WONDERFUL to return home after a short 40 minute drive!
Our two boys napped the whole way home.

We really should spend more time at the beach...

We are already talking about returning next year, but for a whole week!
