I love LOVE doing these weekend wrap up posts (especially when they center around my favorite season...FOOTBALL!)
Sadly though, I have good intentions on doing these posts in a more timely manner but y'all know how it is with life, kids, work...sometimes the last thing you want to do is be stuck behind your computer (or iPad) typing up a blog post.
BUT, we once again had a fun weekend to kick off college football season, so I feel like I need to share.
Last weekend, Mama and Peet came in to babysit Trey for us so we could go to Dallas for the "Cowboy Classic" game- LSU vs. TCU.
We left early Friday morning and arrived in Dallas with enough time to relax (sans kids) in our hotel rooms before getting ready for dinner.

The guys surprised us (sorta) with a limo to pick us up for dinner and take us around that night so no one had to drive.

It was so much fun! We even ended up picking up some friends along the way. I think their exact words were "we weren't gonna get ride with y'all until the door opened and we heard the music then we just had to get in!".
It was a super fun night. We started at the Ranch for supper and bar hopped a bit before ending up at the Concrete Cowboy where we ended the night.
Safe to say, a good time was had by all...
Especially the next morning when the hubbies had to get up bright and early to set up our tailgate spot and the wiffies got to hang out in bed. alone. NOT chasing children around. It was heaven I tell ya!
Les, Sara, Jaime and I ended up heading out to our tailgate around 12 and after the "rules" of no drinking, no tailgating, no music and no cooking <------- say whhaaaaattt? were lifted, we had a ball!

Back to the rules above for a bit...The rules at Jerry World are that you are not allowed to park with your parking pass or set up your tailgate until 2 pm. 2 pm?!? When you consider the time it takes to set up and tear down the tailgate, and walk to the stadium in time for "Calling Baton Rouge" and "Pregame" that only leaves you with 4 hours of tailgating. No bueno and honestly just ain't gonna happen.
So, around 10 am the guys were "allowed" to set up their tailagtes but nothing more. At first only 1-2 people were allowed to "watch" their tailgate and the rest were banished to their vehicles.
Then something magical happened (teehee) the Tigers said enough. One by one, tops started popping, grills started lighting and the fight song started playing just softly enough to be heard by your tailgate only. Next thing we knew, there was beer pong being played, taunting of the menacing horned frogs?! and everyone was partying down- prior to 2 pm I might add!
It was a HOT day. The temp was 110 and felt like 120. Yeah, hot! We cooled off by cold beverages and silly little rags soaked with Florida water around our necks.
Kev, Sissy and I even made the news on WAFB- wet rags and all <-----ghetto! Did anyone see us? Thanks Janie for the video!!
We headed to the stadium in time to hear Calling Baton Rouge, but we were in the ladies room :( but got to see Pregame- whoop!
We had a blast. We even ended up switching seats so the girls and guys could sit together. Les and I taught Sara all the dances and cheers and she made fun of me when I got goosebumps during pregame and the fight song :)
And even though we were in the nosebleed section- any seat in "The Mothership" is a good seat, and we were able to see every play.
We even walked over to see Annabelle and Baby Cullen at halftime :)
We ended the night exhausted but with a victory and headed back to our hotel.
We all missed our babies by the next morning and headed out after breakfast for our 4 hour trip back to the LC.
Even though I have enjoyed the two games (and LSU victories) I have seen played in Jerry World, I think I am over the ridiculous NFL rules of small or clear purses and 4 hours of tailgating....That is of course until next years season opener at Reliant Stadium! Geaux Tigers, Beat the badgers! And for the record, that's a tad more intimidating mascot than a horned frog....
