Christmas {Part 2-The O'Meara-thon}

On December 26th, we celebrated O'Meara Christmas in Mandeville with not only our Christmas celebration, but also TWO showers!

It was easier to have the showers together on the same day since so many of our family members live out of state. Because the event was to last all day, Jim fondly referred to it as the O'Meara-thon. :)

So here are some of my favorite photos from the day including Christmas, the Future Mr and Mrs Pott's wedding shower and Baby Cayden's Baby shower! (Thank you to Katherine for some of the photos!!!)

Our family sure has grown from Grandma and Grandpa O'Meara and their seven children to this amazing crew! (We were even missing some people in this picture).

We had fun playing outside before opening gifts and the ladies enjoyed passing the little ones around.

The 21 and younger crew opened their gifts first.

Well, and some of the parents helped :)

Opening presents obviously requires wine....and snack cups...

It was Colleen's year to wear Grandpa's vest and she rocked it all day, btw! For those of you who don't know, our Grandpa wore this red vest every Christmas and he was in charge of the trash bag while everyone opened gifts. Since he passed away, the grandchildren have taken turns wearing Grandpa's vest every year at Christmas.

Colleen did a great job as trash patrol too!

Trey enjoyed being the center of attention and walking all around popping his popcorn.

Aunt Peggy snuggling her new grandbaby!! :)

Aunt Sharon and Uncle Karl always give the best books!

Aunt Lucy enjoyed showing off the print of the Golden Spike with our great-great Grandpa pictured standing on one of the engines. What a cool gift from Aunt Mo and family.

Love how Sarah and Sean were the only two paying attention (and smiling) when I snapped this picture.

The little boys all loved playing in the empty boxes...typical!

Trey enjoyed getting a little one-on-one time with his Great Uncle John O!

Trey got a really cool book of "First Words" and can point out and name quite a few pictures in it already!

After a tiring time of opening gifts, Trey fell asleep on Jim's lap so we moved him upstairs to the crib for a nap.

The guys helped us get everything ready for the first shower, which was for Colleen and Chris.

...well some of the guys helped...some just slept :)

We sent Sarah this picture to let her know we were missing her!

After everyone's hard work...it was ready to start the showers!!!!

We had a hot chocolate bar with all the "fixin's".

We were SO proud of how it all turned out.

Up first, the future Potts! :)

Seriously, how cute are they??

We had fun watching them open their gifts and I have NEVER seen someone get so excited about a vacuum as Colleen did!!! It was hilarious and too cute!

Everyone had a blast making their hot chocolate and if I must say so myself, it was really REALLY good!

Next up- Chris and Taylor (and baby Cayden!)

Look how cute this little family was- all matching in their navy and stripes :)

Everyone really enjoyed looking at all the adorable baby things!

Ronan was very relaxed during the shower, can you tell?

Trey LOVED baby Cayden and kept giving him big hugs and kissing him.

After a few more photo ops, it was time to call it a night.

We are thankful for this big crazy family! Even though we only get to see some of the members of the family once or twice a year, we love getting together. This was also the first time some of the family had gotten to meet Trey which made it even more special.

You did a great job of capturing the heart and soul of the O'Meara-thon. Your blog and those of other cousins will become family history for future generations. I wonder how big the family will be By the time Trey grows up?
