3 for 3 Weekend

For starters, I must begin with a big WHO DAT!!! Of course I was super-beyond-excited about my Alma Mater's "W" over West Virginia Saturday night and ecstatic to see them move up into the #1 spot, yes, yes, yes... BUT I beamed with pride yesterday afternoon, as my beloved Saints beat the Texans in the "dome". (Which was too close of a game, I might add...) I know those of you in Louisiana love the Saints and were thrilled with the victory as well, but to those of us who live in Texas, and more specifically, HOUSTON, this victory was huge, HUGE. By now, most of my co-workers are used to my "Louisiana-isms". I don't get any strange looks when I wear my LSU scrubs, or earrings or purple/gold clothing combinations on any given Friday. I did however, get quite a few comments today on my black pants, gold shirt, gold jewelry and black and gold fleur de lis scarf. Some may say it was a little over the top, but I did get quite a few victory "who dat's" today and living in Texas, that was enough for me!

So for my third exciting event of the weekend (as if the before mentioned two were not enough), the Hubster and I went to see Randy Travis at the Arena Theater. Before any of you question it, yes, that said Randy Travis, and no it wasn't a typo. I have loved Randy since the time I could talk. My grandparents would buy me each cassette tape on release day and I would listen to it over and over until I learned every word. I have only seen him twice in concert (counting Saturday). I coerced my hubby into going with me by telling him I needed to see Randy again before he got too old to tour. (Little did we know, he is only 52, as he announced at the concert, so hopefully we have quite some time left!)
So there we were, surrounded by people our parents' and grandparents' age, loving up some Randy. (and checking our phones every few minutes for updates of the LSU game of course). I have to give the Hubby mad props for not only missing watching the game to go with me, but actually enjoying himself! This was evicenced by him singing along LOUDLY in all the videos we have, therefore I will not be posting any... hehe.
We sat in the 7th row (whoop whoop!)  in what was the smallest venue I have ever watched a concert, and it was AMAZING. No seat is more than 60 feet from the stage and the theater only holds around 2500 people. You can check it out here:Arena Theater for more details. I would most definitely see another concert here, especially if it is the love of my life, err, my favorite singer of all time! :)
