Lord Send Rain

We have been in a drought. Not a dry spell, but a real-life, water rationing, wild-fires breaking out in different counties, yards turning to hay type of drought! League City (where we live), has been under mandatory water rationing for the last few months. A church near our house actually has "Lord, Send Rain!", on it's sign by the road. We have been under very strict watering rules, which include watering your lawn only with certain types of sprinkler systems, on certain days, at certain times. This has been translated in the Jacobs household to, the lawn is simlpy NOT going to be watered. That was our mindset, but boy we had no idea how our yard would actually look after this long, HOT summer.

We used to have very pretty St. Augustine grass in our front and back yards. We even had an egg hunt for Adelle this Easter at our house because we had the "nice grass". To put it into perspective for my O'Meara relatives, we had the kind of grass Grandpa O'Meara would have been proud of, thats how great it was...

BUT, as I type this post, it's raining, storming, pouring, how ever you want to say it, the wet stuff is coming down, and lots of it! We are pretty sure we are going to have to re-sod our yard after this winter, but even a little rain gives me some hope. Even if it is just one evening of rain, thank you LORD for the rain!!

Awesome sky!
