6 months!

Growth Stats:
 17 lbs 9 oz and 27 1/2  inches long
This puts him in the 50% for weight and 95% for length.
For a recap here are his stats from birth:
Birth: 8 lb 0 oz and 20 3/4 inches long
1 month: 10 lbs 6 oz and 22 inches long
2 months: 12 lb 8 oz and 23 1/4 inches long
3 months: 13 lbs 8 oz and 24 inches long
4 months: 14 lbs 14 oz and 25 3/4 inches long
5 months: 16 lbs 0 oz 26 1/4 inches long

If you can even believe it- Trey's stats at 6 months are IDENTICAL to mine at 6 months- down to the ounce! How crazy is that!?

It is so amazing to me how much he has grown in 6 months. The difference just from 5 months to now is incredible!

6 month well-visit:
Trey had a great checkup with Dr. Pocsik. Trey got his last round of shots!!! (Well, until he is a year old). He did great! He cried right after he got them, but quickly got over it. I had some questions regarding how much solid food he should eat but Dr. P reassured me Trey will let us know when he has had enough. She recommended to let him eat until he is done and that we can give him solids three times a day if we wanted to. She said he is right where he needs to be as far as meeting milestones and growth. She does want us to work more on him taking the vitamins since we are still breastfeeding. I am having to make that a priority...

After his shots we went by my work so everyone could see him. He was a ham and loved all the attention. We ended up staying there almost 2 hours visiting! Then we headed home and both took naps. After our naps, we ran errands to Starbucks, Hobby Lobby and Target and by the time we got back home, Daddy was almost home. Trey was in a great mood and you would have never known he had shots.

Hair/Eyes:
Trey has lost all his "old man" hair in the back and now just has one short layer of super fine brown hair that is growing longer and longer. His eyes are still dark blue.

Nicknames:
Mostly just Big Man, Big Guy, Bud, Buddy or T Bud

What He's Wearing:
6-9 and 6-12 month, size 1-2 shoes and size 3 diapers. We have also upgraded from footed infant pj's to separates! We still have some one piece ones that fit, but I am just loving these little separate ones...they make him look like SUCH a big boy!! Plus, they make it much easier to change his diaper in the morning when we are half asleep. And on a side note, I would like to talk to whoever invented snap pj's and give them a piece of my mind. Those things are the most annoying things EVER!

Sleep Habits:
Still a great sleeper! Trey still goes down between 8-9pm and sleeps until 5-6am. Mommy and Daddy love our great sleeper!! He had a little cold around 5.5 months and that week he woke up once a night around 3-4 am to eat but he would go right back to sleep, so it wasn't too bad.

He usually takes 1-2 good long naps during the day (1-2 hours each) then some smaller cat naps between.

Sometimes I let him nap on me when I can't bear to put him down!

He is still sleeping and napping in his crib. He sleeps in the pack n play at Sara's.

What He Eats:
Still breastfeeding! So happy about my decision to do so. My original goal was 6 months, but now I want to keep going! I am going to try to make it to a year or close to it. We have an overnight trip (away from Trey) planned for the first LSU game this season, so I plan to at least be somewhat weaning by then.

We started Trey on cereal at 5 1/2 months. We were planning on waiting until 6 months since he has a sensitive little tummy, but Trey had other plans. He was becoming very interested in us eating and was doing so well sitting with assistance. When I started to look at the recommended "criteria" for starting solids, he met all of them so we decided to try it out.

We started giving him cereal once a day and then after he had been eating it for about a week, Sara started giving it to him once in the morning at her house too. He really likes it and grunts and squeals for more if he is still hungry or if we aren't fast enough feeding him.

The first week or so, he ate the cereal pretty well, but around week 2, he really got excited about it. One day he got so excited he started kicking his feet and kicked the bowl right out of Sara's hand. She said there was cereal all over her and Sadie and Trey were both laughing at her!

Trey has also tried avocado and sweet potato, which he liked as well. I plan on starting to make him some baby food this weekend. I can't wait!

I am still pumping once in the morning, twice at work and once before bed. This gives me what Trey eats while I am at work plus another 5 oz or so that I used to freeze, but now I use that milk to mix with his food.

I have not really been paying attention to the amount of solids he eats but got curious and measured. He has pretty consistently been eating 2 Tbsp of cereal mixed with 1-2 ounces of milk, twice a day and now a veggie once a day.

Daily Routine:
Nothing has really changed here. Our little schedule has been pretty consistent and has worked out well for us.We still usually start our day between 6-6:30 am.

Trey continues to goes down for the night between 8-9 pm after PJ's, lotion and and nursing for the last time.

Personality:
Trey continues to laugh a lot, usually when we act like were going to "get him" and when we tickle him. He really laughs when we make animal sounds, but "woof" is his favorite.

He also has this high pitched "gasp" that he does when he is really excited.

Motor Milestones:
Still not officially crawling, but he continues to scoot and roll all over the place. I don't think it's going to be long!

He can easily get up on all fours and catapult himself forward to get where he wants to go.

He also never stays on the blankets we put out for him. He is a curious little guy!

He is still working on teeth. Everything continues to go straight into his mouth including our fingers and the other night he scooted over to Jim and put his big toe in his mouth- gross!!!!! Thank goodness Jim had just showered, but still...

He has been chewing on things a lot more lately so maybe he will get a tooth sooner than later. A doctor we saw told us he saw a little pearl in there so maybe that tooth will decide to make its appearance here soon.

Trey loves to work on his pincer grip by grabbing our faces, hair, clothes, jewelry- you name it, he wants to grab at it! He also likes to flick his fingers and flicks at his head when he is super tired and trying to go to sleep and flicks on me while nursing.

He also started reaching for us, but he reaches the most for Lucky. This has been one of my favorite things so far. It's just so dern cute!!! Love!

He can sit in "tripod" stance for a few seconds before he falls over. He is really doing well sitting with assistance and can easily sit in his bumbo, highchair and any chair he can hold on to.

This is SUCH a Jim face he is making!

Trey has now outgrown his bouncer seat and swing so we have retired them. His favorite places to hang out are in his exer-saucer or on the floor under his play mat.

The past week he has started actually playing with other kids. He plays with Sadie during the week and last weekend he played with Adelle and Quinn. It was too cute! I can't wait to see their future adventures!

We have also been practicing our lifts for his future in ice-skating....just kidding...but his nanny thought he looked like he was doing an ice-skating lift here :)

What Trey says:
He can now "coo" and "goo", squeal, gasp and laugh.

Favorite Activities:
He has really grown attached to Sophie this month. He chews on her non-stop! Poor Sophie...

Trying to get Lucky remains one of his favorite things to do.

Lucky will let Trey pet him until he has enough then he will move just out of Trey's reach. So mean...Lucky was surprised to learn this week that even when he thinks he is far enough away from Trey, Trey can now scoot to him so Lucky has started to move into another room when he has had enough :)

It's becoming more and more difficult to get still pictures of this busy body! Here are some of my favorite out-takes of his monthly pictures!

We had so much fun this month. Can't wait to see what the next month has in store for us. We are looking forward to some sweet summer-time!!
