Weekend Wrap-ups!

I don't know about y'all, but we LIVE for the weekends here. Our weeks are usually packed with boring day-to-day activities so we really look forward to two whole days without work!

The last two weekends have been just so much fun! The weekdays have just sadly been so busy I haven't had time to blog about them!

So here goes...Two weeks ago, Grammy came to stay with us and keep Trey while Sara was on vacation in Cabo. Trey had a wonderful time getting spoiled by his Grammy!

Grammy's birthday was Thursday and she woke up to flowers with a balloon and a "tea cake". Grammy's favorite tea is this gold peak tea. She says it tastes just like the tea her grandma used to make when she was a little girl.

Peet drove in Friday afternoon and we celebrated both Grammy and Quinn's birthdays Friday night with fajitas, cake and gifts.

I don't think the bakery got that Quinn was a boy, but that's ok. He didn't seem to notice or care that his cake had pink roses and glitter on it!

Grammy opened her memory book and really loved it. I wrapped a box of kleenex with it and boy did she need it :) We all cried and laughed while reading all the memories. Thank you SO MUCH to all of you who helped with it!!

Saturday was Beer Fest in Kemah so we went out and enjoyed some international beer ...

...and fantastic weather.

Trey did not like the loud band when we first arrived but soon got over it and just hung out with Grammy and people-watched.

Saturday night I went out for dinner and drinks with the girls for Rebecca's birthday and left Trey for the first time. Although he was in excellent hands, I couldn't help but miss him. I am happy to report he was a good boy- as usual... and we had so much fun!!

Peet had to work Tuesday, but she stayed until that morning to hang out with all of us some more.

Grammy ended up staying until Wednesday as Trey got sick with a little cough and cold over the weekend. He quickly got better with a little Grammy TLC. We are just so lucky to have her!!

Last weekend was another great weekend as we went home for Quinn's birthday and my first mothers' day.

We had a great day Saturday! We went to campus to find Trey's brick his Nanny and Parrain bought him for Christmas.

Mike was out since it was such a pretty day but he was snoozing away in the corner of his habitat. You can see him in the background of this picture.

Then we traveled to Zachary for the Herring's annual Mother's Day crawfish boil and Quinn's 1st birthday party.

We had so much fun. PawPaw Len was feeling good enough to come out too!

The cooks enjoying their crawfish after a long day of cooking!

The weather was simply beautiful and everyone had such a good time.

We took the annual "Mommy" picture. Wow- the number of mom's has REALLY grown over the years!!

Quinn had a fun time with everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to him. He just kept clapping and laughing the whole time.

Trey was worn out by the end of the party but was enthralled with all the noisiness of opening gifts!

We put on Trey's jammies on before we left and he crashed as soon as we got in the car and he had a bottle.

We spent Sunday (Mother's Day) morning in Urgent Care with Trey which was not fun at all. His face had suddenly become swollen under and around his ear. The doctor thought it was possibly a swollen salivary gland and manipulated it quite a bit. By the time we got home, it had started to go down, so thankfully it was really nothing.

My first Mother's Day was fabulous. I got tons of cards and sussies complete with a bracelet Jim made me of Trey's name in morse code and a spa gift card. I will always be grateful to this little one for giving me my most important title- Mommy!

I have the most thoughtful and caring hubby. I love our life together and I am so blessed to have him by my side.

We had lunch with the Jacobs/Monteros and it was good to see them and spend some time with them...especially since MawMaw is moving this weekend and we probably won't get to see her quite as much.

We ended up staying in New Roads Sunday night and coming back Monday as I was already off work and Jim got the day off. Trey had his follow up appointment with Dr. Wright at TCH for his hemangioma and she said it looked great and discharged us so we do not have to follow up with her unless something changes.

We had another great weekend this weekend-pics to follow. We missed Daddy so much and can't wait for him to hurry back home this afternoon!

Happy SundayY'all!
