18 Months {1.5 years!}

Growth Stats and 18 month check up information:
27 lbs 7 oz and 34 1/4 inches long. He had a great checkup! He cried a lot (especially when he got his shots) but hugged and kissed Dr. Pocsik before we left. I cannot believe we don't see her again until he is 2!

He is growing so big right before my eyes! He went through a growth spurt a week or two ago where he was constantly hungry and restless at night, and now I know why! He was most definitely growing!

I know it's only June, but hes starting to get his little summer farmer's tan. I also have found two freckles on him. Guess he is going to have some like his mommy.

Hair/Eyes:
His hair keeps getting thicker and I think he may need a trim before he gets a real haircut! Its got a little (stressing the word little) curl to it in the back. His eyes are still hazel/green just like his GG's!

Nicknames:
Bubba, Bud, Baby Trey (I think he will always be "Baby Trey")

What He's Wearing:
18-24 month or 2T clothes, size 6-7 shoes and size 5 diapers.

Sleep Habits:
Trey has still been sleeping really well. He usually goes to sleep between 8-9 and usually sleeps 10-12 hours every night.

I started putting a book or two in the corner of his crib. When he wakes up in the morning, he will sit in his bed and read and talk so that buys me an extra 30 minutes-ish of sleep :) We are about half and half with laying him down awake vs. asleep for naps and nighttime. It just depends on whats going on that day as to what we do. He still puts himself to sleep well when we lay him down awake though, as long as he has his pillow.

He has continued with one long 2-3 hour long nap usually around 11am. When he starts preschool in the fall, he will go down for a nap around 11:45 and have two hours allotted for nap. This summer I am going to start pushing his naptime back to get him ready for that.

What He Eats:

Trey still drinks milk in the morning and before bed from a sippy with sometimes another cup of milk during the day.

He continues with three meals a day with snacks between. He is very opinionated about his food and will open the pantry to tell us what he does or does not want. One morning it was cheese-its. I don't always give in to him but I am definitely learning to pick my battles.

He really branched out this month and ate lots of new meat including: a BBQ chicken leg, pork chop, brisket, fish sticks and ribs.

He is still quite a picky eater but he does eat a variety of things when I really sit down and think about it.

Favorite foods include: chicken nuggets, mixed vegetables, pasta, smoothies, ritz crackers, yogurt covered raisins and most fruit.

He likes to blow on his food to cool it off before he eats it as well.

He also likes to help Mama do the grocery shopping as long as he can ride in one of the super cool buggies!

Daily Routine:

Nothing has really changed here. Our little schedule has been pretty consistent and has worked out well for us.
Our evening routine still consists of a bath, teeth brushing, pj's and then sippy of milk before bed.

More like an every-other-day routine, but he LOVES waiting for the garbage and recycle men to come by. He runs outside and waves to them and they always ALWAYS blow the horn on the truck for him, even if it's early in the morning. I'm sure our neighbors love that :)

Personality:

Trey is becoming more and more strong willed. He shows that "Major temper" pretty often! He is also still very opinionated. Time-out continues to work well for him.

He has the sweetest heart. He LOVES all animals. Any animal he sees, he wants to hug and kiss it.

He is a very silly little guy. One of his new favorite things is laughing after he toots or burps. He has also recently learned to blow raspberries and loves to do so on our tummies.

Milestones:

Trey only has one speed- fast. He runs everywhere he goes.
He is still working on learning to use a spoon but is pretty good and consistent with using a fork.
He now has 15 teeth! We are waiting on one canine to poke through then we just have the 2 year old molars to wait on. THANK GOODNESS!

He still consistently prefers his left hand over his right. Maybe we will have a leftie??

He is now able to climb up on all the couches, chairs and beds in the house completely unassisted. Lucky is no longer safe! :)

He can easily recognize places and people's houses. He recognizes our house and also "Rara's" and "Nan's". He stars calling their names as soon as we are in the driveway and he stars calling for "Dada" as soon as he sees our house.

He will now sit and let us use the snot sucker on him or clip his fingernails. MAJOR win for Mama and Dada!!

He is such a good little traveler- we are always on the go somewhere and he just goes along for the ride....as long as he is equiped with snacks, drinks, a movie and his pillow- he is good to go!

What Trey says:

He is still repeating much of what he hears.

Finally, after keeping him for over a year, he named Sara "Rara"!

He loves to help us count. When he sees the coffee pot he says "one two, one two" as he and Daddy count when they put the scoops of coffee into the pot. So cute!

His little vocabulary is still exploding! He is saying more two-word phrases: "theyis" (there it/he/she is), "skit come" (to call the cat), "get down", "sit down", "whats that", "bless you".

Just for giggles I counted his words the other day. He now knows over 40 words and phrases, many animal sounds and quite a few peoples' names!

He can easily identify Mama, Dada, GG, Puh, Nan, Adelle or sometimes "Dell", Sara, Ella, and Sadie by name and says those names quite frequently during the day.

Anything New:

He was getting so distracted sitting at his table, so we recently got him a booster seat. We used Reece's Cooshee seat when we were at the Hoffman's house one night and loved it. We ended up getting the Prince Lionheart version and so far we love it and so does Trey!

He has lost interest in the potty, so I am giving that a rest for a bit until he shows he is more ready.

He loves to show us where body parts are (head, tongue, teeth, ears, nose, mouth, belly buttons).

He has recently learned to blow raspberries and loves to blow them on our tummies and he also loves to wrestle.

He can see something once and then do it. Newest things include blowing on foods to cool them off before eating them, getting the mail (he even knows which mailbox is ours!), cleaning things, wiping his face/nose and picking up toys.

He has also learned to go in and out of the doggie door.... we do not encourage this, however!

He loves to go on "see" Horsey rides on our backs and says "noooooo" "noooooo" over and over while he rides for "neigh". It's so stinking cute, half the time I don't even correct him.

Favorites:

He still loves to read books. Some of his favorite ones are: My Family book, My First Words Book, a book about Noah's Ark the Tillers, Wascoms and Martins gave him for his baptism and all his Elmo and Thomas books. He loves to point out animals in books and usually points and waves and says "theyis!" when you ask him where a specific animal is.

Favorite shows/movies and he asks for each one speficially: Sesame Street ("ghhhhhh" for Grover), Super Why ("why") , Little Einsteins (he pats his chest like they do when they "blast off" in the show), Thomas and Friends ("choo choo") and Santa Buddies (weird, I know!) ("dog!" "dog!").

His favorite toys include: his blocks and duplos, busy board, balls, choo choo trains, bubbles and sorting boxes.

Favorite games include: doing puzzles and hide and seek where he usually hides nothing but his head and then says "theyis!" when you find him...silly guy!

Favorite outside games include playing with bubbles, swinging, going to the park and swimming in his pool-bring on summer!

He loves watering the plants and drinking from the hose pipe.

What we did this month:

We've put quite a few more miles on the bike and jogging stroller this month! I started back working out 3-4 times a week (started with cardio only) on April 30th. I am now in week 5 and it feels great to be working out again! More on that coming up in a separate post.

We sent bday greetings to some of our favorite people who all have birthdays on May 2nd!

We wore yellow on Wishbone Day to remember sweet Braxton.

We celebrated his BFF Quinn's 2nd birthday!

We got super spoiled having Daddy home with us for 3 weeks!! (He started a new job at the end of May). Trey got very used to having his Dada home all the time, so it was pretty hard on him when Jim started his new job.

We went home in May and Trey spent the weekend with GG and Puh. He had SO much fun and got SO spoiled. He cried hysterically when we left to come home :)

We brought him back these "cajun reeboks" from our trip- shaaaaa!!

We had our first snoballs of the summer!

We had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend remembering all those who have served.

We celebrated Trey's half birthday!

Last but not least, we registered him for Preschool in the fall!!!!!! A pretty bittersweet moment, but we are really excited for him and know how much he will love it! More to come on that decision.

I know I say this every month, but THIS age is my favorite! Love this little guy to the moon and back...
