Big Boy Haircut

When Trey was 19 months old, we took Trey to get his first hair cut!

His hair was not totally long and out of control...see, that was sort of the problem.

If it had grown long all over it would have been easier to let slide a little longer, but it did not. It was long only in the back causing Trey to have a mullet!

It started driving us crazy about a month before we finally got it cut but then over a week, it grew super long and we knew enough was enough.

His Uncle T had started to refer to him as Bill Murray and were were calling him Joe Dirt, then when we saw THIS picture we made up our minds :)

Trey was such a big boy. We took him to Cool Cuts and they specialize in children's haircuts. The lady's name was Phuong and she did an amazing job!

There were three kiddos ahead of him so he played with the trains before it was his turn. When it was his turn he decided what car he wanted to sit in and then she let him pick out a movie to watch.

He picked Thomas (big surprise there!).

He did not want her to put the cape on him and cried when she tried to put it on, but was perfectly fine with sitting in the chair while she cut his hair.

We opted for a scissor cut only (no clippers). Neither of us (Jim or myself) was ready for him to have a buzz cut until he can make that decision himself, lol.

He did really good and got a sucker while she cut his hair for being such a big boy.

His hair was not long enough on the top yet to need a cut so she only cut the back and the sides.

I know we could have just done this ourselves, but I didn't really want to try to wrangle him into sitting still enough for the cut. Also, they gave us a sweet little souvenir and a lock of hair to keep from his first cut!

He immediately started to look like a big boy.

He has not needed another cut yet, but his hair is surely growing fast. I think he will need another one soon.
