5 months is not a normal Dr. visit month but we had to go in because Wesley had thrush that was just not going away. He also gave it to me which was (NOT) fun at all, but we seem to be on the mend now. Dr. Pocsik will re-evaluate his head at 6 months to make sure it is not flat. I am dreading this as it is definitely a little flat in the back...but when I look back at Trey's pictures his head is pretty flat too and Jim's head is pretty much shaped the same way so I am really not concerned. His little head is otherwise so round I have to stretch shirts out to fit over his big head before getting him dressed :)
Hair/Eyes:
His little hair is starting to grow back in and is really light brown/blonde. His eyes continue to lighten up and we think they will be blue.

Nicknames: Brother, Wes, Wesley Burger
What He's Wearing:
9 month clothes, 6-12 month pj's (WHAT?!) and size 3 diapers

Sleep Habits:
He is still sleeping in the rock n play but now sleeps in his own room. At Cathy's house he sleeps in the rock n play or pack n play.
He still prefers to be held to fall asleep. I am going to start putting him down awake soon so we can work on that. I surely do not want that to become a habit.
He is still waking up 1-2 times a night (for about a month now). Some nights he wakes up a third time which is really really rough. He wants to nurse a little then goes right back to sleep. Once he is over this sickness we will try to work on good sleep habits once again.
What He Eats:
Breast milk and rice cereal. He's still a nursing champ but he definitely prefers one side over the other and it's getting to the point where I think my left side may dry up :(
One day he was so milk drunk the milk was literally running out of his mouth and he was completely passed out.
He is now drinking 5 oz at a time from a bottle. He takes 2-3 bottles while at Cathy's house during the day.

I am still avoiding most dairy as I suspect he has a MPI (milk protein intolerance) like his big brother did. He is not as sensitive as Trey was so I am just cutting back at this point.
What He Says:
He has really started to coo and talk to us and it is just so precious. He also hollers at us if we are not paying attention to him or if he is in a room all alone and wants someone to come and pick him up. It's precious.
He laughs and has the cutest little chuckle.

He also has a new fake cough that he does to get our attention. It started after Trey had a bad cough and was coughing a lot so he started mimicking him.

Daily Routine:
He still eats every 2-3 hours during the day. Night feeds have become more like 1-2 times a night but hopefully won't be this way for long. He still cat naps then takes 1-2 long naps during the day. He now consistently takes a nap around 7 pm then wakes up again and has his bath and nurses one last time before bed time.

Motor Milestones:
Still rolling and can now roll to move around on the floor or from one end of his play mat to the other. He can also roll his way off his mat. He rolled all the way onto the tile the other day and Trey and I had to go rescue him!

He can now take his paci out of his mouth and is working on getting it back in.
He is trying to hold his own bottle and can easily hold toys or a teether.

He loves loves loves his feet and is constantly playing with them.

He continues to chew and suck on his hands.
We have given him a cold teether a couple times and he really liked it. He is most definitely teething although it doesn't seem to bother him as much as it did his brother...so far!
He will put anything he can get his little hands on in his mouth.
He is really really trying to sit up on his own without assistance. He can do so for a few seconds before toppling over.
He loves the bouncy and has started to jump in it.
Anything New:
We started giving him rice cereal once a day right at the 5 month mark. The first time he was a little unsure but then he really got the hang of it. He looks forward to it nightly. I will be sending him some to Cathy's house for her to start giving him once a day soon. He really really loves it and will cry or fuss if we are not feeding him fast enough.
He is extremely ticklish. I can usually get him going really good by kissing him. He is the most ticklish when we kiss his little thighs.
He has started to bite me while nursing :( :( :( It has not been the best month for us as far as nursing goes with thrush and now the biting. I have been fussing at him when he bites me and he gets super sad and makes a big bahbin but it doesn't necessarily make him stop. It got so bad for a few days, I started pumping and giving him bottles to give myself a break.
He had his first swing in the backyard and at the park as well. He wasn't swinging for 5 minutes in the backyard and fell asleep!
Likes: Taking a bath, his paci, having his head and eyebrows rubbed, bouncing/swaying, standing up and pushing up with his feet, rice cereal.
Dislikes: Staying in one spot too long unless he's asleep, the snot sucker!!!, being cold, having lotion put on him, getting shots (duh!)
