38 Weeks

How far along: 38 weeks and 1 day

Total weight gain/loss:  1 lb this week (33 lbs total) My face is getting so much fuller all of a sudden, it's weird how your weight distributes itself...

Maternity clothes? Yes, although still wearing some non-maternity though. I change into my yoga pants and hubby's pj pants as soon as I home for the evening.

Sleep: I'm still sleeping really good! (VERY thankful for that!) Most nights I sleep through the night without waking up at all. My belly feels awfully heavy in the middle of the night when I have to flip over, that's for sure. I have been relying more on my pregnancy pillow for support at night.

Best moment(s) this week: I got a sneak peek at our little man Wednesday at work with another ultrasound. We could see all his little features, it just made me want to meet him even more!! She estimated him to weigh about 7 lbs 2 oz but she said at this point, there is a 1 lb differential, so we shall see. I think we are going to have a big boy! We also started a baby pool for the little guy's birth date  weight and length. I had lots of "mommy appointments this week" trying to get things done and pamper myself a little before Trey gets here. I also had a super sweet Shower on Friday thrown by Lesli and Truly at work. It was just perfect and the little guy got hooked up once again! We finished out the last couple of things we needed for our little guy this weekend, so now we are just waiting for the star of the show to arrive!

Movement: Still having daily hiccups 2-3 times a day. He is still active, but his movements are much softer now, as he is really running out of room to move around. He usually gets more active after I eat and then between 10-11pm but he never wakes me up at night moving around so hopefully he will be a good sleeper. (wishful thinking on this mama's part!)

Food cravings: Nope.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Not really, but I definitely cannot eat as much as I used to. I just eat a little bit and I am full and have to stop or I will start feeling sick. That makes me sad with Thanksgiving coming up!!! :( :( :( No pigging out for this lil mama I guess...

Gender: Boy!

Symptoms: Back pains, pressure, hand/finger tingling continues in the morning right after I wake up, nosebleeds (especially in the mornings). I would have to say at this point I am definitely getting more uncomfortable. Sitting down is hard because he is all up in my ribs and lungs, laying down is hard because he moves around so much, walking around is hard because my stomach gets so tight. I am so thankful I just started getting so uncomfortable though....some people feel this way for months.

Belly button in or out?  I think it's half and half now. Sometimes it pokes out more than others, but it's never really become an "outie". I think it all depends on where the little guy is located in there as to how it looks.

Wedding rings on or off? Off

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy.

Anything new? Belly is hard as a rock 99% of the time. It doesn't give at all. It makes putting on socks and shoes, shaving legs, etc. very difficult! My gums also bleed now when I brush my teeth. Darn the blood volume increase....

Exercise: I started walking again at the end of the week and am going to try to continue to do so. It makes me feel so much better and when I get home and I am exhausted, it helps just to get out there and walk...This week I only walked the dog, but plan on taking a longer walk today since it's SO nice out. I also ran errands every day this week and walked my pregnant self ALL over the stores trying to finish up last minute things.

Looking forward to: Having our family here for Thanksgiving next week!

38 Week Checkup: Dr. B had to go do an emergency c-section so my appointment was a little late. Little guy's heart rate was good at 148 and I don't even remember what my BP was- oops! My belly is still measuring right on track at 38 weeks. I am still 1 cm dilated but now 50% effaced- yay!! No wonder I have been feeling so much more pressure! Glad to be making progress. Dr. B's office is closed next week for the Thanksgiving holiday so I instead of seeing another doctor, she said I can wait and see her early the following week. I plan on making myself very busy this week to try to get this ball rolling (even though I know he will come when he is good and ready).

We discussed what happens when I go into labor and she gave me the after-hours number to her nurses' station just in case since I won't see her next week. We call her nurses and then they call the hospital for us when it's time to go.

We also talked about the plan if little guy is late. I do not want to be birthing a 10 lb baby (sorry if that was a little graphic!!) so she said if I make it to my due date she will definitely induce me if that's what I want. She made me laugh saying that when babies are late, mommies get grumpy and she doesn't like grumpy mommies! Hehe.

We are just going to play it by ear if the little guy is stubborn, but it's nice to know her thoughts about it.

Ok little guy, we made it to full term, feel free to come any time now! We can't wait to meet you!!!!!!

Here are some pics from this week and my shower at work:

These ladies did SUCH a great job. Everything was beautiful!

Got the baby bullet system, yay! Can't wait to try it out!

Truly hooked the little man up with lots of clothes!

This may be the softest blanket ever. Jenny  made it.

Do they know me or what? Yes, a Texas friend got me LSU stuff for our little guy! :)

My hostesses Lesli and Truly :) Love these women!

Oh and love these silly girls too! :)
