A few years ago, we started the tradition of getting together with our best friends a week or so before Christmas and letting the kiddos open gifts. We get together with them Christmas morning as well in Louisiana, but it is a lot more fun to let them open their gifts from us ahead of time so we can focus on "ooohing" and "ahhhing" over their Santa gifts on Christmas morning.

This year we decided to do hot chocolate, donuts and kolaches for supper- yum! The kiddos loved having this for supper and the adults thought it was pretty cool too.
After dinner the kids made their own Christmas ornaments. Les was a good teacher and they got really into it.
After eating, the kids opened their gifts and after some time spent opening and installing batteries they played with everything.
When we were done, we headed home with full bellies and hearts.
