We went home the week before Easter to go to celebrate Leighton's first birthday with our friends and family. Leighton and her Parrain share a birthday so they had a cake for the two of them :) It was a beautiful day so we did a little egg hunting before we headed to Lafayette for the party :)
There were lots of friends for Trey to play with at the party and he had fun playing with the balls and coloring with Michael.
The birthday girl got all ready to have her cake...aka they stripped her down to her diaper as we all do for those first cake photos!!
Poor lovie wasn't a huge fan of her cake but she had a quick bath when she was done.
Trey found a little spot to eat (devour) his cupcake :)
When it was present time, all the kiddos gathered around to help Sarrie and Leighton open all the gifts!
Trey still thinks Leighton is a little baby and wanted to hold her all day long. She did let him hold her for a few seconds while Sarrie finished opening all her gifts.
On the way home, we grabbed CC's and a cake pop for the little munchkin and headed back to New Roads.
We made a quick stop at the river to check out the water and the ducks before going to GG's house.
Trey really liked the steps and waving to all the boats passing by.
It was such a pretty day we played some more outside before calling it a night! Uncle John O and Aunt Shea sent Trey home with the ball he had so much fun playing with at the party!
Sunday, we went to 9 oclock mass but it was Palm Sunday and we knew that would be a really long mass for Trey to sit through so we left him home with Puh then picked them up after. There were all sorts of fun activities for the kiddos to do after 11 oclock mass including arts and crafts, visits with the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt!
Trey was not real excited to see the Easter Bunny, as you can tell!
He really liked the crafts though and had fun making them all.
There were also snacks set up at the stations of the cross and each kiddo got a ziplock to gather snacks as they went. That was super cool. They also had all the nutritional info by each snack so we could check the ingredients if needed.
Soon it was time for the egg hunt! We had been practicing so much Trey really understood what to do this time and went after the eggs, but he mostly just chose the ones with cool designs or colors on them and left all the plain ones alone.
We hit up Big Boys on the way home and Trey fell asleep with a death grip on his chicken nugget.
After nap time, we hung out and played some more in the yard before calling it a night. I really need to have a little girl so I can make her flower crowns and leave Trey alone...
I was awakened early the next morning by a band playing pots and pans in the kitchen...only at GG's house...
We made one final stop before I headed back to Texas and Monday morning went to visit Onnie and Sophia. The kids had so much fun playing on her swing set, jumping on the trampoline and riding in the golf cart! I only wish we could have stayed longer...
I packed up the car to head home and Trey and GG waved from the porch. Trey stayed with GG until the end of the week when she brought him back home for Easter. I know he really loved his 1:1 time with his GG and he is already asking to go back and do it again :)
