Wesley 2 Months

2 month wellness checkup: Wesley had a great 2 month checkup and got his first round of shots. He cried right when he got them but did not have any other reaction. If anything, I would say he was a little more sleepy than usual the afternoon after he got them. He still has his clogged tear duct but Dr. Pocsik said to just keep massaging in and cleaning it with a warm rag. I put breast milk in it a couple of times but I think I may try that daily to see if it helps. We also have abx drops for it as well. We go back to see Dr. Pocsik in 2 months!

Growth Stats:
13 lbs 13 oz and 23 1/2 inches long
1 month: 10 lbs 15 oz and 22 1/4 inches long
This puts him in the 90% for weight and 75% for length.

Hair/Eyes: Wesley was born with thin black hair just like his big brother! He also has the "little old man" hairline in the back where his hair is much more full than in the front. He definitely does not have my forehead and has a nice hairline in the front. His hair is starting to fall out which I assumed it would do. His eyes are that dark blue/grey color still although they are getting lighter so I think he will definitely have blue or green eyes!

Nicknames: Brother, Brother Bear, Wes, Wesley Burger, Bug, Junebug

What He's Wearing: 3-6 month and size 1 diapers although he could really be wearing size 2, I am trying to use up all the 1's that we have!

Sleep Habits: So far he is a great sleeper just like his big bro (I am knocking on wood as I type this). He cat naps on and off during the day but always takes one big long nap around the middle of the day. This sometimes is the same time Trey is napping and that is GLORIOUS! At night, he goes one long stretch which is now more like 5-7 hours then one shorter stretch (usually 2-4 hours depending on the night) nonetheless...the kiddo wakes up only once at night to nurse which is AMAZING! He sleeps through the night at least once a week so we are hoping this gets more frequent.

He has joined his brother in falling asleep in strange places. He fell asleep right in the middle of the big boys one night...

...and fell asleep sitting up in Jim's arms another night!

He is still sleeping next to our bed in his rock n play which he loves. I love that it's so small and takes up MUCH less space than the pack n play that Trey slept in until we moved him into his crib.

Usually in the mornings both boys join me in bed to start our day. It's one of my favorite things!!

He is also SUPER snuggly and loves to sleep on women's chests- his favorite place to sleep!ests (it's his favorite way to be held).

If he naps on the couch or chair, he likes to lay on his side.

What He Eats:
Breast milk :) He's still a nursing champ. He nurses on both sides at each feed and normally drains both. This is going to be a big dude! He is getting much more efficient at nursing and is significantly cutting down his time. He is unsure whether or not he likes a paci- we are still experimenting with them but he likes a specific kind of Nuk ones the best.

We are also starting to slowly introduce bottles which Wesley has done great with- as long as they are warm. If it is not freshly expressed milk, we have to make sure we warm it up enough or he will not take it. Trey would take a bottle regardless of the temperature so this is new for us...

He is now drinking about 4 oz at a time from a bottle.

What He Says:
He has started to gurgle which I believe it the start of him actually cooing. :) He also makes the same little "eh eh eh" noise that Trey used to make when he was hungry. Wesley also grunts. A LOT. We laugh at him all the time because no matter the situation he is usually grunting.

Daily Routine:
He eats every 2-3 hours during the day and wakes once to nurse at night. We have started to work on bottles and he will even usually take them from me without an issue. On a normal day, we will have to leave the house at least once. Depending on the errand, he hangs out in his carrier or I will wear him.

He LOVES to be worn and will happily sleep the entire time we are out and about.

We try to bathe him 2-3 times a week so we don't dry out his skin too much. His baby acne is now gone and also the contact rash he got from laundry detergent is also gone so his skin is baby fresh again.

Personality:
Too soon to tell, but he is definitely laid back and chill. He usually only gets upset when he is dirty or hungry. He has started to smile which is adorable and melts my heart every time!!

Motor Milestones:
Still rolling sometimes but he is also starting to enjoy tummy time more so he will stay on his tummy a while before he rolls back over.

One day he fell asleep during tummy time!

He is smiling now and they are SO SO SO SO SO cute. Those first little wrinkled up nose smiles are my absolute favorite! The best part is that it takes little to nothing to make him smile- pretty much just looking at him or talking to him makes him let out a huge smile!

He smiled for the very first time when we were home in Louisiana! The pictures below were the ones I took of his first smiles, but they have gotten even bigger and sweeter since then.

He has also started blowing bubbles and trying to mimic faces we make. It is so cute!

Anything New:
He is starting to stay awake after eating for longer periods of time but gets really fussy if he is overly tired.

He loves his brother and turns his head in Trey's direction when he talks to him.

He is really starting to get chunky and getting more of a double chin and rolls!

He is a much bigger boy than Trey was and I am having a hard time getting used to just how fast he is growing and how fast he is outgrowing all his clothes!! He also has some pretty delicious little hiney dimples :)

He is starting to spend more time under his play mat. He flails his little arms and legs in the air and gets surprised every time they touch one of his hanging toys- too cute!

I moved Trey's seat over to the middle spot so he can help with Wes if he gets fussy in the car. Since moving him, he thinks its pretty darn cool to "help" but basically touch his brother the entire time he's in the car. I may rethink this very soon, hehe.

Brother Time:
Trey adores Wesley. (still)

Overall, our transition has been pretty seamless. We all adore Wesley and it feels like he has always been a member of our family. Trey has not shown any jealousy at all towards him yet and we are so thankful for that. We are seriously just loving life!
