Trey's third birthday started off with a trip to Build a Bear in the mall. Trey loves Toothless the Dragon from "How to Train Your Dragon"; he was even Toothless for Halloween this year.
When I saw Build A Bear had dragons, I was all in and Jim and I just knew it was the perfect thing for us to do with our big boy.
The night before his birthday, we left Wesley with GG and Puh and headed to the mall for a little date with Trey.
Trey of course picked out Toothless, although he had a little tough time deciding between Toothless and a dinosaur. He also decided to put a sound inside of Toothless so he can "rawwwwr" like a dragon!
Trey thought it was super cool to help stuff his new friend and listened intently to everything the lady was telling him to do. It was too cute!
Here is Toothless all done!
Before we left, Trey took him to the pet wash and made sure he was nice and clean and then we made a birth certificate for Toothless!
We had a little snack of smoothies and popcorn then headed home. I snapped this sweet picture of Trey sleeping the last night he was 2 years old. When he woke up...he was THREE!
Trey woke up to this set up in the kitchen and he was SO excited!
Of course he wanted to open his presents right when he saw them so we had an early morning present-opening party.
He was SO excited about all his gifts and cards!
A ceratosaurus was his #1 thing on his birthday list and Puh Puh came through with it for him!
After gifts, Daddy went and got us all donuts for breakfast and Trey got some super special sprinkle donuts!
We sang him happy birthday and of course he needed help blowing out his candles (he isn't the best candle blower, hehe!)
Friday afternoon (black friday, mind you), we headed to Toys R Us for Trey to pick out his birthday present from GG and Puh (a new bike!!!) Although it was a busy shopping day, the toy store was surprisingly not super busy. Trey sat on and tried out tons of bikes and after much negotiating and playing, he decided on a blue and orange one.
He loved his new bike and loved sitting on it, although the helmet was another issue. We had to go to a few stores to find him a helmet that was his size and even then they were very limited. Once we found one that he liked, when we got home he refused to wear it and told us it hurt his head. Because of this, he is YET to really ride his bike, but we know he will come around...
Trey's birthday night, the Tolers came over to give him his gifts and then we all headed to the Zoo for Zoo Lights!
Trey requested to ride with Nanny, so Adelle gladly swapped places with him so he and Quinn could ride together and she could ride in peace, haha!
Zoo Lights was SUPER cool!
None of us had ever been so we weren't too sure what to expect, but it was tons of fun and the kiddos LOVED it!
There was a "snow globe" set up for a photo-op. It was cute and the kids got excited and ran right in. We soon found out they were loving it so much because they thought it was a jumpy and were very upset (especially Quinn) when we made them get out. The workers told us they came very close to deflating it...oops!!!
Wesley got bored being in the stroller, so he mostly hung out with me in the wrap.
I think this picture was actually taken right after the "jumpy" incident, hehe!
So glad GG and Puh could be in town to come with us!
There was a huge train set so you know the big boys were totally obsessed with this and didn't want to leave!
Hayes loved the lights and tried to touch every single one of them on our way out. He was too cute!
There was a talking zebra there named Candy Cane that was interacting with everyone. GG told Candy Cane that it was Trey's birthday so Candy and everyone there sang happy birthday to Trey. It was so amazing. His little face lit up like a Christmas tree. It was truly precious and one of my favorite memories from the night.
The elephants were also out and we got to get right up close to them. It was especially cool!
On the way out there was a car all light up that blew out "snow" every few minutes. They kids loved this and played and played in the snow!
Saturday night, we took Trey's cake to Sara and Troy's house to everyone could sing to him. His cake was supposed to be a T-Rex which left much to the imagination, but nonetheless it was delicious!
We are so thankful for this spitfire and little ray of sunshine. We couldn't imagine life without him. Happy Birthday "3"!
