When GG was in town for Trey's Christmas program at school, we decided to have a little fun! We did a lot of reading of the Polar Express (or Toler express as Trey calls it). GG is the perfect story-teller!
One night we threw on Christmas jammies and got Dairy Queen and rode around to look at Christmas lights. Trey was over that whole thing in about 5 minutes which was also fine because Wesley was having a meltdown since the bottle I brought along with us was having an issue and no milk was coming out of the nipple...
Look how cute these guys are in their matching Christmas jammies!
Trey had Polar Express week at school and came home one day as the conductor!
One night we also decided to go to the Dickinson Festival of Lights. We hadn't been in a couple of years but it was just as cool as we remembered. Trey walked through the entire thing (sometimes running from lights to lights) so excited to see everything all lit up!
Sweet little guy!
Wesley started off in his stroller but was way too interested in what was happening around him so I ended up taking him out so he could enjoy all the lights also!
The lighted tunnels were absolutely our favorite so we were so glad they had so many of them around the park!
This was the best pic we could get under the sign as it was so dark out there.
On our way out, Trey wouldn't pose with me by the dinosaur but at least Wesley would! We had so much fun walking around and looking at all the lights and it wasn't super cold so we really enjoyed ourselves.
My friend Laney sent both the boys a homemade stocking when they were born. Her granny makes them and they are just so precious. I wanted to send her a picture to show her granny how much they love their stocking :)
The week before Christmas, Santa visits our work and passes out gifts to all our patients! Santa always rounds up some "elves" to help with the gifts.
He has also recruited Adam to sing which the patients (and employees!) absolutely love!
Here are Santa and all his elves loaded up in the elevator@
We ended our gift-giving with a little stop to admin for everyone to come and say hello.
One evening, I decided to take some pictures of Wesley in my Mr Bingle jammies from when I was a baby. (I also have pictures of Trey wearing these on his first Christmas). I crammed Wesley's little nearly 6 month self into these 0-3 month jammies and got the most adorable photos of my little men!
For the last few years we have celebrated Christmas early with the Tolers with presents and donuts and kolaches, and that's exactly what we did again this year.
The bigger our little krewe grows the harder it is to get a good group shot!
The kiddos wanted to sing happy birthday to Jesus and blow out candles for him so thats exactly what they did before they ate their donuts!
We had so much fun laughing and watching all FIVE of our babies open their gifts!
We had a great night and the kids got some very special and awesome gifts!
Wesley also got to meet Santa for the first time at Bass Pro! We go there every year to do our Santa pictures because we just really love their set up, usually very short line and FREE photos!
This was the first year Trey really loved doing all the activities in line waiting for Santa. He and Daddy practiced shooting the guns which he loved.
He wrote a letter to Santa (and asked for a big garbage truck!) and mailed it to him.
He was so proud of himself!
When it was our turn, Trey was a champ and sat right on Santa's lap with his little brother and also held Wesley's hand, so sha! Santa had to do a little convincing as Trey wanted to stand next to him at first but he cooperated without much pleading and we got the cutest pic of the two of them!
Galveston County Fairgrounds put on a Winter Fest celebration that was free to the public so we decided to go! United Rentals was one of the sponsors, so Kev was actually the one who told us about it. The Tolers and Derouens met us there and the kids had a great time.
There were craft tables set up inside for the kids and they made a few different things before we headed to check out the rest of the festival.
They also had lots of games set up where the kids could win little treats for playing.
One of the hilights was definitely the "snow" and the kids had fun pelting each other with snowballs!
There were also these cool animals the kids could ride on! We had one extra kid to fit on all the animals so Trey decided to ride with Quinn.
Wesley thought all the activities were pretty boring so he ended up napping through a large part of the festival.
Our last pre-Christmas fun we had was decorating the house with our Christmas stuff! We did this after Winterfest. Trey and Jim did the majority of it and did a great job!!
I had taken Trey to Walmart a few days before to pick out an inflatable for our yard and he picked out a really cheap one so I let him have two of them! He was SUPER excited!
The little helpers had fun hanging out on the blanket and watching Mama and Daddy figure out where everything was going to go.
I don't even feel like the pictures do it justice to how pretty it really ended up being!
We had about a month's worth of Pre-Christmas festivities and had so much fun preparing for the most wonderful time of the year!
