Christmas Eve, eve we headed to New Roads after working a half a day. The traffic wasn't bad at all and we made great time. Trey was asleep when we got there so we threw him in bed. Wesley however woke up and thought it was party time so he stayed up WAAAAY past his bedtime until I finally nursed him to make him go to sleep, hehe!
Christmas Eve morning, we hung out and Trey showed Wesley GG's Christmas tree :)
GG read books to the boys including the Cajun Night Before Christmas but she says next time that is Puh Puh's job as she can probably do a better cajun accent. :)
Nae Nae came over to spend some time with the boys and exchange gifts It was so great to see her!
Wesley got all her snuggles as Trey didn't want to cooperate for a picture.
Later on that afternoon, we went to visit Aunt Betty in the nursing home. Uncle John Bebe had recently passed away and I wanted to bring the boys by to see her as I knew it would really really cheer her up. She LOVED holding Wesley but said he was a wiggle worm and got heavy :) I think it's incredibly cool that these boys have met so many of their great-great Aunts and Uncles!
Aunt Betty's granddaughter, Mindy, and her great granddaughter, Riley, were there visiting when we stopped by. Trey took right to Riley and just loved her. He was so tired he almost fell right asleep on her lap. He really loved her a lot.
We decided to go to 6pm mass as it is usually less crowded than 4pm. Wesley usually takes a nap in the evening so of course he fell asleep right as we were getting ready to leave. I guess a family picture with one sleeping baby is better than none at all! He slept through part of mass and woke up happy. Trey was also very well-behaved during mass.
After mass, we had a busy agenda...we had to open our gifts, make and decorate cookies, set them out for Santa, make and set out the luminaries so Santa would be able to find us in Louisiana.
My grandpa, Boo, would wear this hat every Christmas so now whoever is handing out the gifts wears the hat. Guess who wanted to wear it this year?!
Ya'll, I really don't think Trey got enough gifts, what do you think?!
We gave Trey two really cool things that were Jim's when he was a little boy...This excavator and also a dump truck.
Wesley tried to open some of his gifts but mainly just wanted to try to eat the paper...
After gifts, Trey and GG decorated all the cookies!
And obviously enjoyed some while they worked :)
Wesley hung out in his walker and supervised.
One final family picture before heading out to do the luminaries!
The luminaries were stuffed, put out and lit and looked amazing!
GG put lights on her front porch this year and they looked so cute! Trey loved them!
I'm pretty sure Santa had no trouble finding us at GG's house with these awesome luminaries!
We tucked the babies in so Santa could come...
...and we had to put out the cookies and milk as Trey fell asleep before he could even put them out! I forgot to take a picture before Santa ate the cookies so here is the after! He must have really really liked them!!
Once the babies were dodo, Santa came!!! WOW! They must have been really really good boys. Check out all that stuff!!
Christmas morning, we had one very excited little guy who was up around 3 am and somehow GG convinced him to stay in bed until about 6 lol! Notice it is still pitch dark outside; reminds me of Christmas mornings as a child!
Trey's #1 gift he asked Santa for was a "big garbage truck". I guess he was a very good boy because there was one waiting for him under the tree!!
Santa left some yummy treats in everyone's stockings and Trey and GG enjoyed some of theirs!
They checked out all their Santa gifts and Wesley even took everything out of his stocking!
Best we got of a Christmas morning family picture!
Soon, Wesley was exhausted and fell asleep on Jim's shoulder like this, lol!
After a nap, we showered and got dressed and headed to Zachary for Christmas breakfast with the Herrings and Tolers!!
We had so much fun hanging out and playing and spending time with some of our favorite people! Every time I look at this picture I bust out laughing...This took us so many tries to get and still it is complete chaos!
Baby Hayes got this cool ride on train, but the big kids pretty much hogged it all morning!
They opened their gifts and had a blast making a huge mess.
Maw Maw got in some really good snuggles with baby Wes.
And Papa and Maugie got in some quality time with their adoptive grand babies! :)
We headed back to New Roads so the boys could rest before Aunt Angel and Sara came to visit and celebrate Christmas with us!
We ended up face timing with Aunt Jamie, Aunt Jutta and MawMaw so they could see the boys open their gifts from them and I think that was a great idea!
Trey convinced Sara to go running with him outside which ended up in their feet being completely soaked as it had rained so much. I adore this sweet picture of the two of them!
The girls stayed and had gumbo with us which was great and we got this blurry fuzzy group picture and I am not even sure what Trey is doing down there at the end
After dinner, we bathed the boys and got them into pjs. Wesley enjoyed taking a bath in GG's sink!
..and being wrapped up in his new towel from Aunt Jamie and Aunt Jutta!
So glad we got to spend Christmas with them!
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night....O'Meara Christmas celebration to come!
